Should pedestrians be made to wear helmets? (UK)?
At least 5% must suffer a head injury of some sort. Should they be made to wear helmets (I am not actually sure why?)?
Answers:
Full body armor works better, and it would create jobs too.
But in place of doing this, I would suggest stringing wooden blocks with large nails driven through them linked together with dog chains across the major intersections on days when there is a bit of weather.
thats just takin the ******* piss id never wear a helmet!!!
Maybe all cars should have foam padding the front as their the ones at fault most of the time?
I think that would be hard to enforce.NO
I walk every mornin n wud not want to be seen wearin a helmet! Ever heard of helmet hair!
If pedestrians wore helmets they wouldn't be able to hear traffic and it would restrict visibility so they would be more likely to have an accident.
Yeah, I,m sure that would be a very popular law.
Instead, we should install giant magnets on cars and have belts that push away from the magnets on the cars. Yeah.
i like your question. it goes against the grain of the pro - motorist majority of this fucked up country of ours. of course, pedestrians shouldn't have to use any protection other than safe nighttime wear - you know dayglo stuff at night. we have to stop the 4x4 driving arsholes. they are the real problem. because they are generally cleverer, richer tw4ts with 5 kids called tristan, dominic, bryony etc ( my daughter is bryony, a princess amongst women ) they think they can justify the horrible abuse of the world that is space and hydrocarbon abuse caused by big car abuse. sorry, you can't. don't give a sh1t about your need to accommodate child seats and move the little bastards from your chelsea home to your kingston nursery. or your wilmslow home to your handforth nursery. none of it matters. the achievements of working class kids will always eclipse your mediocrity. always has, always will.
Perseus Is this you? … :)!

dont be so silly hardly pratical is it
NO.
It would be more advantageous if we wore reflective clothes, and if cars automatically braked whenever they approached within 2 metres of a human being, or any other animal., (or if wheels were going to go over an insect). That way the pedestrians could reclaim the land from the automobiles, and could cross the roads anywhere at their leisure, or even amble along the motorway.
The car driver would then hate pedestrians more than they hate cyclists.
