How many WW2 Spitfires are still flying today?
Answers:
The current number of Spitfires in flying condition is around 50.
A substantial industry has built up around restoring and maintaining Spitfires . With the exception of some parts of the engines, it's possible to build a Spitfire from scratch., and there are many current projects doing that. However, building one is very expensive - upwards of 1.5 to 2 million dollars, depending on how authentic one wishes to get!
