Help!,im sitting my driving test?
Answers:
Take your time, take a deep breath and believe in yourself.
If you're up for your test then your instructer clearly thinks you're ready for it so be confident in yourself.
Remember MIRRORS MIRRORS MIRRORS so many people fail because they don't use their mirrors.
If you find yourself struggling or having problem slow down a bit on the road (not too much) and take a moment to center yourself and regain your calm.
Good luck, but I'm sure you don't need it.
keep cool and Lise to the men or lade
A large brown envelope stuffed with tenners worked for me.
Have a drink to calm you down, a shot of gin usually does the trick
I know it sounds mad but the best way is to remain calm - the examiner is only doing their job so they will only fail you if you really deserve it!
The examiner will try to intimidate you as well but dont let him!
The examiner i had was a friendly guy and it made all the difference. As he spoke to me, we never drove around in silence.
The tip i got when i went for my test is to check my mirror often - even if is a glance, before to check them before you make any moves.- if you can drive safely you'll have no problems. Make use of the bit before with your instructor to run over any fears you might have.
Good Luck - you'll be fine! xx
Its the pre test jitters, once you sit on the steering you will get over it, dont worry driving is not ROCKET SCIENCE.
Old ladies and young boys are passing this test everyday.
Just dont forget the basics of driving
You will be fine. I did mine in February and felt exactly the same. didn't think i was ready for it. make sure you know a little about maintenance - water and oil top ups etc (ask your instructor). Remember observation, and lane discipline if you go onto a dual carriageway. And mirrors too. make sure they are set properly. Tip - your passenger side wing mirror can be set before the test so you can see behind you and the wheel arch - handy when you do a reverse or bay park. Above all, stay calm, and everything will be fine. Good luck.
a nice strong coffee and take some nice relaxing deep breaths. and all the very best of luck! drum it into your head you need this more than anything and you know you can do it! and im sure you can.
Just remember, be on you best behavior. ..Introduce yourself and ask for their name and state that you don't ride with strangers.but you guess this is an exception to your parents rules..Relax and listen, ask a question if not sure of what instructor wants you to do. Go slow..
my advice, do not be nerves . I failed my first test because of that. so just take it easy. let them feel safe, and u will pass. eas ur self and drive before u go to ur apoinment around the DMV,just to worm up and u will be fine. good luke.
try to keep calm and listen to what they are telling you. Even if you make a mistake, correct it straight away to show you are ion control.
Also, dont go too slow if you get taken on faster roads, i nearly failed my test for going at 40mph on a 60.
Good luck!
Treat the exam as if the test instructor is a new instructor that ur regular instructor is helping become an amazing teacher like him.
All u need to do is do like u wud in any other lesson, follow instructions, keep calm n breathe. If there is anything u dont understand, ask again. If u miss a turning say sorry, can we try that agen? I didnt quite follow. If a driver behind u is impatient or beeps u, ignore it, think they were a learner once n just breathe..take ur time ignore them, because if u get flustered n go when u shudnt, u will get marked down..
Enjoy the thought u r displayin wot u no, ignore the text bit, just think its a regular lesson before my test next week.this is a practice.u shud b fine.
By ignoring the word test, u will feel a lot easier n will b able to concentrate better.take care, and always look twice before coming out of a junction.
Take care n keep us posted x *fingers x'd - u can do it*
dont speed and listen to what the instuctor tells you dont panic and dont forget to use your mirrors
If you are taking the driving test in the UK, an average candidate (whatever that means?) will generally require between 30-40 hours of quality tuition, to be at an acceptable standard.
MYTH BUSTERS -
If you have been taught correctly, then you will be aware that the examiner will be testing your ability to react correctly to what you see in your mirrors, e.g. if there is a car close behind and you slow your vehicle too quickly, then you will be failed because EVEN THOUGH YOU CHECKED YOUR MIRROR YOU DID NOT REACT TO WHAT YOU SAW i.e., another vehicle following too close - brake earlier and more gently..Why? By braking earlier and more gently gives the driver that is too close MORE time to react.
Mirrors should be checked every 3-5 seconds depending on the road and traffic conditions. DO NOT position your mirror so that you have to move your head - the examiner is trained to know if you are checking your mirrors!
I know it sounds strange but it is actually possible to drive the whole test without checking the mirror once and still pass. (I'm retired and living abroad since '98, so this may have changed). Why? No one affected by you not checking, not an X or a D can be recorded, only //.
Not checking the mirror with no consequence = minor fault (indicated by //); candidates can have 100 slashes and still pass.
One X = Fail; your actions affected another road user.
One D = Fail; D is for dangerous driving. You almost caused an accident.
Confirm with the Driving Standards Agency whether your instuctor is a grade 6 or DipADI, read the Highway Code thoroughly, try to practice in your parents' vehicle and even if you're walking or travelling in another vehicle, try to read the road.
Practice, practice, practice..knowing your subject well will give you confidence.
It's not just about the test after all..that's just a BASIC requirement for driving without supervision.
It shouldn't be necessary to say, but it's always said.GOOD LUCK!!
Drive Safely.
Sorry, it's now 1.05pm so any advice would be too late.
Let us know how you got on.
just drive it no big deal u should pass it
I miss some points by not checking my blind spot so remember to do that
