I'm sure i heard somewhere that cars aren't insured when driving round the arc De trioumphe in Paris?

Great question, I have heard that too & always wondered if it was true - the way they drive I wouldn't be surprised but then again if they (insurance cos) made that rule there, they would have to consider the whole of Paris & many urban areas of Italy too (never been so scared in my life :-o !)
Its true.
That's quite correct, if you saw the kamikaze drivers on suicide missions you would understand why.
I lived there for 2 years and my hair turned grey driving on it.
I heard this too.
Just give way to anything on your right.
Not true! Cars better be insured to drive around L'Arc de Triomphe. believe me. I live here.
Yeah, well, life insurance is more important round there, nevermind car insurance!
I think what happens is that comprehensive insurance becomes third party - your insurance company wouldn't pay out for damage to your own car, but will still meet claims against you from third parties. And I think it's only French insurance companies.
