Better yet, personalized plates on a POS car! They can spend the extra cash on a vanity plate, when the registration cost more than the car itself!

Big what?? Big Moron is the only word I can think of!! Think they're trying to over compensate for something, It generally seems to be older men in BMWs that do this sort of thing!

no not at all for me it just personalises my car and makes it mine and therefore unique
that is untrue. i am 24 and have private plates but i am certainly not rich so i dont think you have the right to judge people. if people want private plates it is not your business to say they cant have them and call them names. i think you need to grow up and realize that just cause you dont like something doesnt mean other people have got to agree with you. bet if you had the money you would be out buying private plates for yourself so do not judge others

personalised plates make the vehicle unique and unique to the owner, I have personalised plates on my car and its business related for advertising purposes
Thing is, everyone's got a private plate. No one else has the one thats on my car.
I agree. personalised plates were great when it was people with money that could afford plates (like COM 1 C on Tarbuck's car, and similar), but these new DVLA Select things are just sh*ite, especially when the letters or numbers are all pissed-about with and the spacing is all wrong. Too many numpties on the road these days.
One: They're not too expensive, they range from about £69 and go up to over £500,000. I put it this way, if you can afford one for that much, you must be very very very well off so it don't matter.
Two: Sometimes, this private plates are gifts, in which case, a 17 year old, may have been given a new car as a birthday present from Mummy and Daddy, and a private plate from Uncle and Auntie!
Just keep your eyes off private plates and on the road!
I would find it very embarrassing to drive a car with these plates on, especially the 'X5' on an X5, or 'JAG' on a Jag type. Don't they know what make their car is? Just seems a total waste of money to me, same as spending hundreds of pounds on a pair of shoes etc. But at the end of the day, it's their money, it causes no harm, being a pillock isn't normally dangerous, and it's up to them how they spend it, I don't think many people are impressed by them though. As they say, you can't buy good taste!! Much more in this world to worry about!
