You're in for a treat – I'm surprised to see such negative comments from other respondents. Until the 787 Dreamliner comes out in a couple of years, the 777 is Boeing's most modern airliner with exceptional headroom and in-seat video entertainment even in coach (this was United). When I was last fortunate enough to fly a 777 I had a very pleasant flight. We arrived ahead of schedule. Whenever I'm flying I go out of my way to find a 777 flight, even if it means another stopover. Enjoy!
good luck with that. you may as well take the 666
777's are ok - nothing out of the ordinary for a wide bodied long range jet.

Delta is a fairly cheap airline so dont expct many luxuries if you're in cattle class.

Shame you're not on one of their Airbus A340's - much queiter and better layout.
They're like any other plane.

777 usually hold between 300-365 people. They have more than one 777. Business class is always more comfortable than coach as on any other plan.

I think 3 rows of seating. Not too uncomfortable for a long distance. There have been worse
I've flown with Delta across the Atlantic a few times. The first time, about 20 years ago, was a good experience. The service subsequently deteriorated to the point where I wouldn't recommend them now. Actually, all US based airlines offer an inferior service these days.

The B777 is OK, but I prefer to sit in something with 4 engines, such as the A340, or B747, when flying over the Atlantic and Canada.
777 is one of the best planes in ever built.
Enjoy your flight.
Ah, the cripple 7, need i say more!?
Ok 777s are reliable and it has the most powerful turbo-fan engine on earth, the GE-90Its big but its ultimatly like all other planes. The most important thing tho is when you get in detroit and if you are flying then stop by the Cony Island island resteraunt. Its in the North West terminal but all you have to do is look for an underground walkway. They have a tight light show thing under there. But, the best chili dogs. The ones at the airport arnt as good as the oner not at the airport but they are good. You should ask for extra chili cause they give you an extreamly small amount. Then get a Vernors and youll be set. I beleive the coney island id near gate A27 I wish you a safe and blessed flight
Bumpy
I flew on one going to and from Egypt.

Nice plane. Not sure if yours will have it but ours had a nifty camera in the nose that let you see where you were going during take off and landing. They put it up on the screens in the cabin.

Cool
Probebly like any other modern airliner. Take a window seat, I always do. If youre on a clear day you will see a lot! Johan
They're really, really long
B-777 is the most powerful and largest plane for the moment. It can carry A LOT of passengers, which mean the plane is crowded. But, it's fun, it's like any other aircraft, only way bigger.
A very good aircraft with lots of room. The 777 is a wide bodied aircraft which had it's 1st flight around 10 years ago and has a very good performance record but the a340 is a far better aircraft , it is a lot less noisy and has a better layout internally.
Why have you chosen Delta over British Airways or Virgin Atlantic whom use A340s ? BA 777s are well and truly comfortable in Coach/Economy class and the on board service is great, I flew with them out of Heathrow to South America ( Rio de Janeiro) and back, a twelve hours flight, they are first class mate, plenty of space on board ( in economy as well) World Traveller is even better ! I think you have bought yourself short judging by the other comments in here regarding Delta. The B777 is a very nice comfortable, technically advanced Jet as well, dont worry about the two and four engine comments, the B777 has a system which transfers thrust if one engine is shut down for any reason and it will keep flying normally, okay? Enjoy Florida.
Are you sure your stop over isn't in Atlanta as Delta doesn't fly the 777 to Detroit. Anyway the 777 is the flagship of the Delta fleet with seatback TV's in every class and is very spacious. The 777 is rated highly by customers and is very modern and safe. Enjoy your flight!
I've flown three times on a BA 777; one flight 10 1/2 hours long (London Heathrow to Shanghai Pudong). The engines are less noisy than B747 and A330-A340 when taking off but when landing, all three times, there was a big bump when the the plane touched the ground; unlike the other planes mentioned. Very comfortable as I was in world traveller plus, coach with more legroom.
