I have a Lotus motor vehicle registered 1999. Can I legally have a 3/4 size registration plate fitted to it ?

Answers:
That will have coat a bit! You cannot have any other size than the BS standard plates. There are 2 reasons for this.

The 1st is the age old one that if you happen to be involved in a hit and run a bystander will not be able to easily note your VRM.

The 2nd is that Police are more and more using ANPR, Automated Number Plate Reader, devices. These 'read' the plate and check it in the data base..in a split second.

So there is a bit of a clamp down on the size and standard of plates. Its only a £30 fine but if you are a repeat offender DVLA will commence proceedings to have the plate removed from you and a standard plate will be reissued to you.

Hope it helps
Why would you wnat to do that? It'll look real crap. Leave it as it is.
contact dvla & ask them, or ask at your local police station
i dont know but do it anyway. We all bend the rules
not in the usa
Go on the DVLA website. I'm not sure but i think its only allowed on imports
