Is there anythoingto prevent me from taking my own parachute on a commercial aircraft.?
Answers:
No as long as the contraption fits the cabin luggage measurements then you can take it with you , but who is gonna open the door for you to jump of?
no - as long as it does not exceed the size for hand luggage
you'd probably get arrested in the airport
Sounds to me that you dont have much faith in the commander of your flight!! He will be highly suspicious of you also because he will wonder why you want to bale out.
I wouldn't think so. But two tings come to mind. Getting it through security without a problem and how can you get the door of a jet open while it's flying? You can't. Simple as that. So the parachute would just burn up with the rest of you when you crash which is most likely not going to happen.
Somehow don't think they would let you bail out of a pressurised cabin !!!
U wont be allowed
Period
U;ll be searched and interrogated for long for no reason at all
Legally they cant stop U
i expect not. but jumping from an aircraft at fifty thousand feet is a pretty nasty thought as you would probably pass out through lack of oxygen or freeze to death. but if you had to (due to a unforseen element) then you would have to wait in the plane until you got to a suitable hieght then jump but by then about a hundred other passengers would have ripped it off your back (thats if the plane was going down)sorry self preservation and all that
Unfortunately they dont allow you too, saw it in black and white some time ago, anyway.. once you get above a certain few thousand feet you dont stand a chance of survival regardless.
Pointless
They wouldn't open any doors or windows to let you use them.
The doors and windows open inward. The plane is pressurized. You won't be able to open them yourself.
You would have to go through a check-in, in a chute
you can hide a lot of things, so if allowed, I don‘t think
it is a very good idea. Be sensible and think about your
idea from the other side. Someone who intends to do
serious damage to an aircraft, surely would take a chute
with him! Or am I wrong? If not, the authorities would
take you for serious questioning.
Yes.Parachutes are not allowed
Yes, its called the FAA and TSA.
JFazak,
I hope your not serious, because if you are, don't do it. I think you might get yourself into big trouble. The TSA doesn't have a sense of humor about things like that. Even if they let you take it on the plane it wouldn't help. Large aircraft don't glide very good, so they have a tendency to drop straight down and with that in mind I don't think you would have much of a chance to use it.
TDCWH
What good would it do you? You can't open the doors during a flight anyway.
I don't know of specific rules against it. but I don't think it would be looked upon fondly.
