Speeding ticket?

If get a ticket and police have written down the car reg wrong can it be argued, also if given permission to drive friends car and then stopped by police and then find that friendss insurance does not cover driver what can be done - answer is for a friend .. honest

Answers:
If the car has insurance, anyone would be covered while driving it. If the driver shows an insurance card, the officer would not be able to determine that a friend was not covered.

Were you speeding?
If the police have written the number plate down wrong then thank your lucky stars cos you are off the hook.
As for insurance, it is up to the person driving to sort out their insurance, whether or not its their car, so you are a bit in the sh!t with that one! Only thing I could think is you get someone to backdate an insurance policy for you.
Regarding the ticket you would get off cos they registered the wrong car, but being caught without insurance is pretty serious and you cant really wangle out of that even if you do have permission
pay it as soon as you acn our your loss your listerf
oops,

If the police have written the reg down & have no other details, then they are stuffed as they won' be able to trace you anyway, it will be binned.

If they gave you a producer (Er.. your friend) then you will be done for driving without insurance & speeding. Sorry!!

Hope you gave them false details once you realised they wrote the plate number down wrong.
Your friend is in trouble, he should not have given you permission to drive his car if he has no other driver on his inurance, unless your friend says to the police that he was the driver.
call the offices of Larry H Parker or some legal thing that can help you!
if you drive a friends car it would be your insurance that would cover you - some fully comprehensive insurance allows you to drive another persons car with their permission and you are covered 3rd party only.
First, the judge has the ability to determine whether the error was inadvertent or not, such as transcribing 2 numbers, and determine whether the case should be thrown out or not. It is NOT an automatic dismissal.
Secondly, all insurance in the US covers the vehicle, not the driver. If you have permission from the policyholder to drive the car, there is no infraction.
Even though the car reg is wrong, the ticket usually will have your lic # on it, and the majority of judges will typically allow the mistake, which means you will still have to pay the fine. And if you drive in a state that requires insurance, if the policy does not cover you, as the operator of that vehicle, you are responsible.
wrong car reg can be argued. jst say thats not ur car, you can prove it by showing them your docs with the real reg on. other peoples insurance will never cover another person to drive unless you are a named driver on their policy. if you are over 25 and fully comp then you are more than likely covered on any other car that is insured by someone else. if you drove someone elses car without being insured on it then its your fault not theirs. its ur responsibility to ensure you are covered. sorry.
When driving a friend's car with their permission you will normally be covered by your own insurance rather than his, at least 3rd party. If you don't have any insurance yourself, you could be in big trouble.

Knowing the way the courts work, the speeding fine will probably be dismissed on this technicality (given they dismiss them for the speed limit sign having the wrong border) - but it's only peanuts, relatively speaking: driving without insurance is much the more serious charge anyway.
The wrong registration is questionable depending on the jurisdiction you received the ticket. (sounds like your not in the states) As for the other half of the question: Ignorance is not an agruable defense in a court of law!
Okay, first they asked for your license, and wrote down that information also, perhaps even ran your license so that the log at the dispatch station would have that information also. Even if they wrote down the plate wrong, they still know who you are, so those that have said just ignore it, are wrong. Don't show for court, bench warrant issued, the knock on the door follows, eventually.

As far as insurance goes, the insurance is on the car, not on the driver. If you are driving with permission, you are covered. If the friend had no insurance, explain that to the judge. Say you assumed when he allowed you to drive his car, that everything was in order. You might still have to pay a fine for driving without insurance though, or he may reduce it for you. But show up for court.sorry, tell your 'friend' to show up for court on the date he or she is supposed to.
Any state I've been in: it is the DRIVERS RESPONSIBILITY to make sure registration and insurance are current. If the borrowed car only has liability, the temporary driver can be added for a day for a little cost.
Ok, so you're asking two different things here from what I can see. First, if you got a ticket, you got it for speeding, and it's your ticket, not the car's ticket.

Secondly, the police won't be able to determine if the person's insurance "covers" the driver simply by there not being proof of insurance. If you have permission, the insurance will cover you, but you'll still get a citation for not having proof of insurance in the vehicle.

I hope this helps.
Appeal the ticket and they'll get off because they aren't registered to the car plate that they have down as speeding (Even if it's obviously a mistake). You're friend won't get off without insurance though and faces a hefty fine.
You are in the sh*t if you are in UK

Driving without insurance is the drivers responsibilty, not the owners. The owners insurance may have a clause of "any driver.. with the owners permission", but not always, so check that first.

If there is no cover you could try to get some back dated. the cost ain't cheap though.

Speeding ticket you may be able to argue, but if you were actually stopped and they got your driver details as well then a judge may allow the error. Only one way to find that one out!!

Good luck
if you get found with no insurance you and your friend will be done for it with six points and a fine but if the reg is wrong on the docket just hope they don't come knocking i had a producer written for me after a collision with a police car 2 years ago but they forgot to give me my piece drove away and never heard anything again
I'll make this real easy for you are S,O,L and i think you know what i mean.
