So we was driving to his boss'z in the car and got pulled over by the police god knows why - the police officer sat me in his car and asked me some questions bout my license and insurance i told him i had my license and when he asked bout insurance i said i wasn't on this car and said i think it might be insured for anyone because it was a works car but it wasnt the car was impounded
i have talked to the owner permission isnt an issue as he said he will cover for me but what i want to know is because i am a new driver on this probationary period for two years will my license be taken?

You are looking at 6 to 8 penalty point a fine of anywhere between £250 and £800. If I was you I would start saving up for my next years car insurance premium because if you thought it was expensive last time boy are you in for a shock. YES you a gauranteed to get at least 6 points if you drive a car on a public road without valid car insurance.
Argue that as you had consent to drive it and were doing so at the owners request, you weren't to know that the owner's insurance didn't cover you. He may back out at that point but it might be worth a try.
Driving with no insurance will get you 6 points. You can get 6 points but anymore and then you're in trouble. As for the fine. If you aren't earning much and the judge is in a good mood you may get away with £100, £5 a month for however many months (that's what i got).
Just be apologetic to the judge and he'll be lenient. If you give them anything that they don't like they'll be hard on you.
Good luck matey, hope it works out ok for you :)
yes you will get baned and have to take test again
happend to a mate of mine
You will get £250 pound fine 5 points on your licence with a good solicitor and you need your licence for your job they might let you keep it also the owner of the car will be prosecuted for aiding and abetting the offence and will be given the same points and possibly the same fine hope this helps cause ive been there
No you`re not definatly going to get points, check all the small print on your own insurance, you might find you`re covered for other vehicles provided you have the owners consent.
Before you start asking to many questions from your friends boss, GET THE CONSENT IN WRITING!! There WILL be a reason that vehicle was stopped. If he uses a blanket policy the vehicle will have flagged up as uninsured on the police computer.
Let it go to court, the magistrates normally have a bit more common sense than the police, provide every thing is as above you`re cool.
