Are children in a car seat allowed in the front passenger seat of a car?

Answers:
yes, older cars don't have airbags in the passengers seat. Some people aren't that well off
It's not recommended. Children under 12 in a front seat can be decapitated by the airbag.
only in persific seats in a car without an airbag!
yes, but it's safer in the back. The front passenger seat is considered the most unsafe place in the car.
i would rather have the children in the back of the car to tell you the truth, but i am not def sure on the rules now if they can go in the front and suppose depend where you live too
only baby's in rear facing child seats are allowed in the front seat and children over 12 who dont need a booster seat.
Yes but they have to be 12 or over.
No because i live in spain and i am not allowd because my mum would get fined 150 euros
no it not allowed children under 7.5 meter must also sit on a bumber seat in the back children under 12 are not alowed in the frount seat i tink!
As of the 18th of September the rules changed in the UK. They are fairly complicated. There is NO mention of children NOT to travel in the front passenger seat of a car. The rules state "Correct Restraint" which is defined as a seat belt, and an appropriate car seat or booster seat depending on Age/Height and weight.

However there is a recommendation that Rear Facing Child seats (Baby Buckets) should not be put in the front of a vehicle fitted with passenger airbags. Personally I'd not let a child under 12 sit in the front passenger seat unless absolutely necessary
No.
not if there is an air bag.
No. unless it's a pickup truck without rear seats. If a child carseat is used, they're supposed to be set up in the vehicle's rear seat.
NO r u that crazy. kids in car seats should be sitting in the back of the car. have u ever went to a mental instatuion before because i think u should visite there.
Yes they are, and given that driver and front passenger seats are safest in a car, it is almost to be recommended (especially in a 2 or 3 door car). An approved seat and restrain has obviously got to be used and they now advise that passenger air-bags are disabled (if fitted).

You should however bear in mind that European air-bags (driver and passenger) are designed to inflate with much less force than American ones, given that they know ours work WITH seat-belts and alot of Americans don't wear seat-belts (and rely only on the air-bag to save them). So basically, although still slightly dangerous, most of ours are not AS dangerous as American ones to Children.

Put your passengers where they will be safest, seat them and belt them and de-activate air-bag for maximum safety if they are under about 5 years old.
