Why does my car heating not work?
Any suggestions?
Answers:
Because it's not getting any hot water.
Undo the hoses and wash the core out. Make certain water will flow through it.
Then check the water control valve and see its not blocked with muck - a technical term - and it opens and that the return pipe to the engine is clear as well.
If you want to be really certain leave the return pipe off and start the engine with the heater on full. Water should flow freely from the core.
Then check the fan runs when it is switched on by putting your hand on it and feeling that it vibrates.
RoyS.
Take it to the garage, sounds like the heater core has gone
Turned the dial round to the red ?
lack of water in the radiater top it up
or the va to free it
lve is stuck open and close many times
maybe wear thicker socks?
need a real mechanic good luck mine is an a** or I could tell you I think it is a wire he says no
is the car a fiat? specifically cinquiciento??
i had one which did this, its an inherent fault in the cooling system which in turn affected the heating
do you have a honda ? i would check the coolant might be low that would be the first thing i would check even if its not a honda other then that i would go to a shop.
your car heater needs hot water from the radiatior and it goes threw a heater core that heets it so that you have hot air .it sounds like you need a new one heater core good luck.
Could be the thermostat, could even be engine coolant levels.
Take it to a garage, should be fairly simple to diagnose.
Take water temperature in the radiator after running the car for some distance. There will be temperature gauge on the dash board. If it shows that radiator water is getting heated up, the only possibility is that tube/pipes which draw radiator water for heating the air r choked. Clean/replace them.
TRY starting the engine
There might be an airlock in the system or the valves not working trace both heater pipes and feel if they are warm after the engine has run for half an hr. Some cars have a bleed screw on the pipes where they go into the bulkhead. If you suspect the heater may be blocked take off both pipes to the heater and connect a hose to it and flush it out do it several times first putting the water through one way then the other. reconnect the pipes and try again trying to bleed all the air out with bleed screws or taking one of the pipes off while running the engine also make sure your fan is working
No, I bet its a Ford, Ford heaters only work in the sumer time
system can be airlocked bleed water system
