I have a pug 306, when I park the staring goes stiff, is the power staring gone?

if you have turned the engine off this is normal. if it goes stiff with the engine on then get to a garage
stop staring then and steer instead.
It is steering not staring.
probaly so or ur low on fluid does it whine when u turn the wheel if it does then put fluid in it
DAMNFINO.As for steering stiffness during parking : Check belt tightness on power steering pump. If steering works at speed and not during parking this is probably the problem.

What is happening is limited to rack and pinion steering systems only. Although it could affect other hydraulic systems, I know of no others being used in the auto industry at this time.
It is not anything you need to have fixed at this time. So save your money, unless it is truly annoying you to the point of insanity.
To explain it: Think of a pipe with a disc that slides back a forth within it, as pressure is applied to one end or the other, while being reduced on the other end. What is happening, your fluid is seeping past the seals within the system, creating an equal pressure on both sides, thus the sluggish feel when you first start the car.

ON THE OTHER HAND if this a a problem after the car has been driven an hour or so.check your power steering fluid levels and belt tension. If these are fine, your seal is about shot (in the rack and pinion)
hi u might be low on power steering fluid so check ur power steering bottle to see wat you have in there?ifi ts below the max then top it up
As daft as this may seam it might not have power steering all cars are easy to steer when running down the road power steering or not.
