I would like to buy a boat?

BOSTON WHALER !

closed foam construction, won't sink, used for most "Rescue boats", WEAR YOUR PFD (personal floation device), they now come in so many styles that look cool, they even have one's that just look like fishing vest's or light coats. THERE IS NO EXCUSE NOT TO WEAR ONE. I can swim like a fish, I always wear one when ever I'm on a boat, I'm in the USCG (aux), and when ever I rescue someone from the water, the 1st thing out of their mouth is "It happened SO FAST, the next thing I knew, I was in the water". Use your noodle, wear your PFD at all times, PLEASE !
go on the internet and type in boats in one of the search engines , also get yourself a good life jacket if yu dont swim
Buy somrthing else. Boats are a money pit. I had one and the yearly cost of maintaining it, slips etc, was not worth the fun it brought me. It is a seasonal toy. Buy a 4 wheeler and have year round fun.
if your going to get a boat you need to learn how to swim.. take lessons at the ymca.

learn to swim first then think about buying the boat. ur safety comes first
What about a hovercraft?
try a pontoon boat. real sturdy to stand on
areoplane he, he!!!
invest in a good remote boat. you will never enter the water.
then go ahead and buy one
hopefully you wont have to swim, if you have the money to buy a boat you will get advice from the person who sells it,
I do not swim very well either, but my first boat was a pontoon. Very stable and able to do a good party.

When I started water skiing--still not a swimmer--we purchased a deck boat powered by a chevy v-8. Also very stable and able to pull 4 skiers at atime and 3 of us were drunk.

There are all kinds of PFD's [life jackets] available. Cost from 5 dollars to 400 dollars. You pay your money, you get what you want.
stay on dry land boats can be money pits
dont but a boat - buy a jet ski - and get decent bouyancy aids.
I can not recomend any boat . If you are not able to swim.
Does your fear of water not extend to be on it as well as in it?

I've had access to or owned boats for about 20 years and would hate to be without one. Get a good life jacket and /or wetsuit which will help with buoyancy but you do need to get some swimming lessons as well.

You will probably want something about 15 feet upwards so that it's reasonably stable. You don't say if you want power or sail and where you intend to use it so impossible to be more specific.
Well I can’t fly and I still take airplanes! All kidding aside, any boat with the proper safety equipment can be fun and safe. I have been running boats all my life out of Cape Cod & Florida and have come across many people that can’t swim and enjoy boating.

Sorry, guy, this is called cheating.
dont buy a boat if you cant swim and afraid of the water - lethal combination ! you need to be able to be in control if anything happened and not only would you be putting yourself in danger but anyone who may be with you and rescue service if required - stick to something you know and understand
Get a house boat.
A pontoon boot would be a great first boat. Wide and stable. Not built for speed. More for cruising. I would recommend that you where a vest if you have no confidence . A pontoon looks more like a living room that floats. Being the Captain of a vessel should be taken seriously. Take swim lessons.
