If i put my 6 month old baby in a car seat is he allowed to go in the front of a van?
Answers:
Only if the carseat is a rear facing one can it be used in the front of a van..
no.
NO! Are you serious?!
NO. The carseat needs to be in the backseat, facing the back of the seat, not facing you.
No babies should be allowed in the front seat of any vehicle not matter if she'he is in a the best and safest car seat their is.
Not in the state I live. A child of that age needs to be rear-facing in the back. It's a MUCH safter place for your child to be - especially if you have airbags.
I thought they were allowed providing the air bag was turned off and the baby was facing the back rest, but clearly that's different to waht others think, so I would check it out properly before you do it.
No! It is much safer in the back seat. I hope you are asking for someone else and not your child. If you are asking for your own child perhaps you should take classes in parenting 101.
Frontseat Airbag + Baby = Dead Baby
Frontseat Babyseat + Frontend collision = Dead Baby
Backseat Babyseat + Any collision = Live Baby
Moreover, some state laws have regulations prohibiting such and one can be cited by the Police.
NO! Especially if there are airbags. Don't take the chance - he should be in a rear facing car seat in the back seat, preferably in the middle.
Most people say no, but the truth is you might be able to get away with it. The reason you can't is most vehicles are equipped with passenger side airbags. In this situation, if the airbag were to go off, it would likely kill your baby. On the other hand, if you don't have a passenger side airbag, it's not nearly as big of a deal as people make it out to be.
You can put them in the front seat of a vehicle if there is no backseat. If you are driving a cargo van with only front seats then you have to put them in the front seat. The gov't cant make you buy a new car.
The answer is is yes, at 2 conditions:
1- rear facing seat
2- no air bag or air bag turned off
no way./
heck no are u kidding me if the airbag goes off hes dead
Nope your baby belongs in the back seat where its safe. Dont be a loser mom!!
Yes only if the air bag is turned off on that side and the seat is facing the rear of the car.
NO! Up until a baby is 1 year old they need to be in a rear-facing carseat in the backseat. The only exception would be if your van does not have airbags or if you can turn the airbag off, which is an option in some vehicles that do not have backseats. Airbags can kill infants put in the front seat. DON'T TAKE THE RISK!
Hi
No No No. He still must be put in the rear seat with the baby seat facing to the back of the car seat. This is the idea way to keep your child safe.
Jim in Connecticut
as long as there are no air bags yes
Different states have differetn rules but for the most part a child is not allowed to ride up front until they are much much older. Car seats for infants must be in the back seat and be facing the back of the car. That helps the impact of damage possibly done to the baby in the event of an accident.
the baby seat should be rear-facing. and the passenger side airbag turned off.. if applicable.
Rearward-facing Baby Seats
Group 0 for babies up to 10 kgs (22 lbs) roughly from birth to 6-9 months, or
Group 0+ for babies up to 13kg (29lbs) roughly from birth to 12-15 months
They can be used in the front or rear of the car. It is safer to put them in the rear. DO NOT put them in the front passenger seat if there is a passenger airbag. Rearward-facing seats provide greater protection for the baby's head, neck and spine than forward-facing seats. So, it is best to keep your baby in a rearward-facing seat for as long as possible. Only move them to a forward-facing seat once they have exceeded the maximum weight for the baby seat, or the top of their head is higher than the top of the seat.
NO WAY 1st there is AIRBAGS they will kill a child I have seen way to many children killed by airbags always put children in the backseat is safest place for any children under 12 years old. also you can be ticketed for doing so it runs o'le $500 here some states less some more But I would hope that parents have alot more care and love for thier children than to put them in the front seat.
NO NEVER!
