Do I need a passport to fly from the UK to Ireland?
Answers:
If you are a British or Irish citizen you do not need a passport, only photo ID -- en EU photo driving license is fine.
If you are not British or Irish you should bring an EU/EEA/Swiss ID card or passport, or the passport of another country. Visa nationals need to have Irish and British visas even though there is no immigration check at the land, sea or air terminals.
Yes.
No if you have another form of photo id, like a drivers licence, check your airlines web site, because in their terms and conditions it will list what forms of id are acceptable
Northern Ireland, no, southern ireland, yes.
No as long as you are Irish you can use other forms of ID

If you are a british citizen then no you don't. However you d oneed some form of recognised photo ID. Passport being the best.
Most airlines insist that you do have a passport as means as identification, so the answer is yes.
If you live in the uk, you dont need a passport, but you do need something like a driving licence that shows your picture.
yes, immigration at the airport might query your citizenship, so you need proof that you are a UK Citizen.
Not if you're a citizen of the UK or Ireland. However your carrier will probably require some means of photographic identification. What's accepted varies from carrier to carrier but a photographic driving licence should be sufficient.
Sure do. I have a member of staff who goes there regularly..
I've personally seen people refused entry to Eire who weren't carrying a passport. So best advice is take it with you.
For Northern Ireland .no
For Southern Ireland Yes

You won't need a passport for Northern Ireland - but you will need some form of photographic identification. You will need a passport for the Republic of Ireland as they are outside of the UK.

no you only need photo id
It is always an idea to carry some sort of ID with your wherever you go and a passport is as good as any.
yes
if you are british - no
if you are foreign - yes
you need photo ID even if you are british. I always take mine flying in the uk as it is the best ID
you can use an identity card if you are not british
You'd be foolish to leave the UK without a passport and I think the airline will ask to see it when you check in.
I see some very confusing and contradictory answers here! If I was you, I'd phone the airline to check.
I think so. Even to fly within britain I have had to use my passport! but maybe some other form of photo ID like a drivers license would do. If you have a passport though why not use it?
