Should car companies get a speed ticket for manufacturing fast car which can go faster, then the limit allow?
Why do we have to pay speed limit, or radar ticket, when the manufacturer is responsible for manufacturing that engine. Italy and Germany have high ways that alow drivers to accelerate proprely and enjy the ride, but not England.
Imagine a world where the manufacture of your car would have to pay for your ticket because it has manufactured an "loose" product for the road.
Answers:
The manufactur is NOT the oe who pushes the gas pedal down the manufacture is not the one sitting inthe driver's seat looking at speed limit sign and ignoring it .
Just because a car is built to go a certain spped doesn't mean that you have to drive at that speed. If you make the choice to exceed the posted speed limit and get caught, then the fine and the higher Insurance cost are your problem.
With logic like that you will be saying that "because someone is killed in an accident because of your speeding it's not my fault"
when what you lack is responsiblity "BLAMEIt on somebody else It's not my fault"
Grow up and pay your tickets and stop whining
That's like putting on trial the company that made the knife that you used to kill your wife. It's not the manfacturers fault you choose to do illegal activities with their product. If you jump off the Golden Gate Bridge, is it the designer's fault for building it?
No! The driver is responsible for obeying the law.
Heck no, you trying to take all the fun out of driving? :)
Oh shite! that is like saying that fatties should blame food companies for their over indulgence and smokers blaming tobacco companies if they get lung cancer.
Cmon!!
Interesting argument, though it doesn't hold water, too bad really. Alcohol manufacturers aren't liable to consumers, Gun makers aren't liable for the actions of a criminal, etc, etc, etc.. I could go on and on,, only when a company doesn't disclose fully the inherit dangers of it's products, are they liable. I'm tired of everyone becoming sue happy and blaming everyone/everything else responsible for their own idiotic actions. You speed, consider the risks, evaluate chances, and act.. if you happen to be ticketed, it's likely that you commonly engage in the violation and have finally been caught. (Because we all do it, and aren't caught each time!)
Interesting concept though, and it's fun to ponder for amusement sake. I get your point though. Another interesting perspective, is why make an engine capable of even exceeding 80 MPH is laws don't permit you to do so. I've often wondered why my speedometer goes to 120mph when I've never gotten it that high..
Have fun and be well!
I'm not taking this as seriously as TEXAN, as I think your question is merely offering some observation and wit in regards to how ludricrous some people have become over idiotic issues. I think you get it,, I think everyone gets it, lol!
The buyer of a car that will go as fast as an Indy Race Car should be fined for being so stupid and pretentious. Fast cars will get you hot girls and even hotter deaths. And after the 300mph car is totalled, more gas for my boat,,,YEEHAAAW!
I agree that the REALLY fast cars are not really appropriate for anything but driving on the track.
But we can't get carried away and not permit cars that are CAPABLE of going over 70 (for example). If the maximum speed a car can reach is 70, then it won't be able to accelerate very much once it gets up to 55 or 60 . and that could lead to dangerous situations. Sometimes you need to BRAKE to get out of trouble, and sometimes you need to ACCELERATE. So let's not make cars that don't have any power at highway speeds.
