Mercedes diesel van110 cdi.should thay smokes like a good un.?
Answers:
Don't use Re-con injectors, buy new ones. It will be expensive, but you will definitely solve the sooty smoke problem as that is down to poor atomization of the fuel resulting in incomplete combutsion (not all of the fuel is being burnt). Also, your turbo could be knackered, but unlikely after 35k miles unless you drive like a nutter.
I work on ships with marine diesel engines and the only way we can keep our emmissions down and have smoke-free exhausts is to fit new nozzles. I've tried reconditioning nozzles myself and also fitting recon nozzles. If I had £1 for every time I've had to replace recon with new because of excess smoke, leakage or power loss I'd be a relatively wealthy bloke!
If you replace your injectors with new ones you will get more power & more efficiency out of your engine. And it will pass the next MOT. Smoky exhausts do not!
sounds like it needs to go to a merc dealer for some diagnosis, and yes it hase to be a dealer as they are the only ones that have the Star diagnosis system, but to answer your question it shouldnt be smoking that much at all
