Cavalier 2lL mk2. ive just had new sus spirngs put on the front and one of the struts is knocking,?

the garage says its just "bedding in" is it loose? spring placement wrong? any reasonable advice would be ace.

Answers:
Honestly, I have never heard of bedding in, but I am no expert. I would ask how long it should take for it to bed in, but it seems that having those put in, a strut is loose.
Certainly I would get answers from the repair people, and if it doesn't do exactly what they say, get it back in before they try to say it is something else.
I have a fairly new car, and it certainly had nothing bedding in. Sounds like could be codswallop.
now having said that, if you had it done at a professional garage, like where it was sold new, the chances they are misleading you is much less.
It's not bedding, the spring isn't set correctly or top strut nut is loose. Take it to a few other garages, i would suggest a Chevy dealer and have them take a look at it. Even if it is after market parts they will be able to determine the problem. Ask for a printout or a description on paper of the problem and take it back to the garage that did the work. If they refuse to do the correction contact the Better Business Bureau. Good Luck!
Thanks for the two points.

Hey there now did you just get your springs replaced or did you get the new struts too if you didn't get new struts the knocking could be a bad strut and its bottoming out or your strut bolt is loose on the top under your hood where it connects but if you had both the struts and springs replaced i'd take it bake to where you got the work done or better yet to another garage like a chevy dealer and have the pros look at it for a second advice i'm thinking you have a bad strut .hope this info was help full to you
Suspension does not "bed in". They are trying to b**ll S**t you. They have obviously done something wrong, or maybe your top shock mount is worn. Insist that they fix it
sounds like a strut bushing or the strut is not tight
