What would you say if everybody had to re-take their driving test every decade?

Answers:
sounds like fun i think they should do it. it would get a lot of bad drivers off the road.
I'd probably fail
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKK!!.
Oh yes please please please
i reckon that wud b a great idea, it stupid that its every 50yrs!! good Q
That's a great idea.
Maybe there would be less people out there that I guess just forget how to drive!!.

I feel that you should have to take a driving test yearly if you are over the age of 75.
I'd say i'm gonna lose mine in 5 years because there's no way in hell i'd pass.
Cut the amount of traffic on the road no doubt.
cor another way to line the goverments pocket
Oh dear!
i think most of us would fail.. i know i would..lets hope it never comes to that.
i would say that is a great idea
Great! I do not drive.
I think its a great idea, keep the people who can't drive off the streets. I see so many old people driving on the highway that can't break 40 mph. They are a danger to themselves and others!
"Roads'll be quiet"
I would say Why wait every 10 years? Let's do it annually!
It wouldn't matter how often we had to retake our driving test. People aren't going to jeopardize not getting their license renewed, so they'll obey all signals, come to complete stops, and adhere to the speed limits. Then.once its all said and done, they'll be out on the road driving like all the other idiots. It amazes me how some people get their license in the first place!
What a brilliant idea its about time someone thought of it how about every 5 yrs & also what about putting the age up to 20 to start driving and treat the new drivers as motorcycle riders restrict them to cc like they do in oz
Maybe, maybe, or what about a quick IQ or 'common sense' test included in the theory, to keep the stupid off the roads, which surely must be quite a big danger themselves.
i say leave it as it is theres not a lot wrong with the present system but what i would do is change the age limit for driving from 17 to 21 as that would help to get rid of boy racers
i would say there's no point cos if u did u would end up driving at 97 and the ozone would shatter and life on the world would die
What a great idea, five is better though. I drive approx a 1000miles per week. I see bad drivers all over. That probably includes me.
I also think that drivers over 70 should take a licence dependant medical.
All drivers should take a phsychological test once only. None licenced drivers should be given 5 years mandatory sentence in a working prison.
Good idea too many people let their standards drop
God no. Cos the driving test - like most exams is not about how well you actually drive - but about if you comply with the accepted rules. What I mean is - I now drive a lot better that I did when I passed my test; and that's not ego - I drive for a living, but I would never pass my test now. Not because I don't use my mirrors, or drive around fiddling with the radio cos I don't (very often) but because when you go for driving lessons, you are taught to pass the test not taught how to drive. That comes with experience. Its like when you start work with 5 million qualifications, but the guy who left school at 14 with none is way above you cos he knows about life and how your company works. Now I am mid 30s I get really annoyed by the 20-odd year olds - straight out of Uni with a degree that they think gives them the right to look down their nose at you. They don't realise I got my degree 10 years ago! But what I think annoys me most is that I can see myself in them and it embarrasses me.
I got a bit off the question there in my ranting - but the answer is no.
Most of the good drivers would fail on some technicality. There's a big difference between practical driving and pleasing a pedantic examiner.

I drove buses for 16 years, average ten hours a day on the road, including tour buses in the Alps and elsewhere, fitting and using snowchains, turning in tiny places you'd think were impossible (I was once mis-directed into Wolverhampton Railway Station car park and it took me nearly an hour to get out) and I'm sure I and most other professional drivers would fail a test because of petty reasons like not holding the wheel right or something.
Good idea, but I would fail, been driving to long and know how to drive without 2 hands on the wheel
I would say it is a good thing. Maybe a driving licence should only be valid for ten years! I also feel that any driver who gets more than seven points on their licence, regardless of age, should be made by law to re-take and pass the driving test. Peoples eyesight and general health can deteriorate over a few years, so regular checks has to be a good idea. This could save many lives.
good..there are lots of loonies on our roads
I say that they should make it harder to pass in the first place.
I drive for a living and with some of the idiots out ther i think its a great idea

however. im such a good driver that this rule wouldnt apply to me lol
Not often enough.
