My sports car rear seat belts are only waste belts, do i still need a child booster, seems daft?

as i say, my car has only waist seat belts fitted as standard, so do i need to modify the car , still buy a booster, or what .?

Answers:
I would suggest you get full belts fitted NOW. Huge injuries are caused to people wearing only lap belts. Crushed pelvis being only one. I would hate to think of your kids in an impact in this car. And yes, I think you do still need a booster to prevent them sliding under the belts.
waste belt for rear passenger is fine
yes its the law.. and for the sake of a child safety why worry about a few quid?
Law states that the child must be in a booster. In a small child the seatbelt, no matter what kind, can fit the child wrong causing injury should you be in an accident.
Im afraid so.

Yet another way for the govermnment to get £30 quid out of you

I wouldn't be suprised if all you have to do is fart soon whilst your driving and a copper gets a sniff of it u'll get a fixed penalty for it
legally yes (another not fully thought out law), but in terms of safety no a booster seat will not improve the safety of a child in a waist only seat belt - the point of booster seats which some previous answers appear not to realise is for reduction in the risk of neck injuries caused by seatbelts however in your situation i'd reccomend changing the seatbelts to harnesses for children in the rear seats for the aforementioned neck injury reasons - not because it's a law but because you hopefully love your children enough to spend extra for thier safety
its your safety and your friends and family safety after all - you decide
It depends how old your kid is - under 6 and under 15kgs need to be in a full booster (one with a back on it) over 6 and under 12 or not having reached 135cms the booster is the way to go lap belt or not but half the reason for these changes are the amount of serious abdominal injuries to children from lap belt only restraints. Your child's life is in your hands and your wallet.
These waist belt's are considered as only temporary safety belts.
Alot off accidents with these waist belts leave the person in question paralysed. What would you prefer?
