Is a Poop-deck on a ship what I think it is?

I Like the cut of your jib. Promote that man.
I think he's just a Simpson's fan. Homer asked the same question when he joined the Navy!
It's the raised bit at the aft of the ship and has nothing to do with bowel movements.

LOL! No, the word comes from the latin puppis and is the elevated stern deck. It does sound very funny though!!

yep, many sea birds are invited this way onto the ship for company for lonely sailors, its an old tradition and as a mark of respect for the birds that kept the sailors going they still incorporate this into modern ships, and yes the poop deck was indeed named this because the birds were so happy sitting with the sailors (a birdy way of thinking this is my ship maybe) that they didn't want to move so just pooped where they sat. It gets me every time such a lovely story.
the poop deck is the aft end of the main deck on a ship.
Another one i like is the deck above the bridge,,,,,,,,,anyone know what that one is called???,, its,s quite funny too.
Have a Nice weekend,
cheers.
