How much would it cost to set up full production of the ww2 spitfire aircraft?

I want to see the spitfire remanafactured, then maybe others like the mustang, me109,just a dream.

Your dream is not that far off.
A outfit in Germany is building Fw-190's!! Flug Werk GmbH Germany http://www.flugwerk.com They hope to do p-51's next. Look them up.
10,590 in 1939
Cheaper if its made in Taiwan
I want one when you get the production up and running. Can I have working guns on mine?
That would be cool
um, im gonna guess a gazillion trillion dollars
Try building (working) scale model replica's instead, it would be considerably cheaper and there's more chance of making the dream a reality with a lot less hassle.
small aircraft production would be similar to a high end sports car. they are really not that complex. the key issue is liability when you sell them. thats why we don't see new $50k personal airplanes.
About 10 million to set up Engine plant Thanks to CNC machines the cost is very less and about 20 million to set up fabrication and assembly plant About 200 employees should be able to produce 25 aircraft every month.Happy now ,Steal some old blue print from Rolls Royce for the hurricane engine.Oh you need about 20 million in operating capital.
It would depend on what prodution methods were used and how true you are to the original design.

The Spitfire was (is) the most beautiful aircraft ever made but it was very labour intensive to produce. All the compound-curved panels were beaten with a hammer against a form and smoothed with an english wheel. This form of construction almost cost Britain the war. This is why many replica Spitfires are made of wood.
I had a similar idea after 9/11. Why not build new P-51's or P-47's or P-38's and station them where needed as a terrorist deterrent. Their ability to stay airborne for long periods of time coupled with a shorter take off distance would seem to make them well suited for the job.
hell check into it if its feasible a bank might loan you the green you never know build it and they will come
A lot!

If it could be made profitable someone would have already done it. So you would have to have a lot of spare cash to burn. Try dropping Bill Gates a line and see if you can get him interested. I here he has a bit of spare cash.

It is a nice idea though.

As for the comment about building new Mustangs, Thunderbolts and Lightnings to provide a deterent against terrorist attacks.

Excellent appart from a modern Passenger jet is faster than all of them! So not such a good plan then :-)
A genuine 'warbird' Spitfire would cost you in excess of $1m these days. There are a number of specialist companies who are (effectively) remanufacturing Spitfires (and other aircraft including Hurricanes, Bf 109s, P-40s etc), with some companies specialising in airframe work, others in engines etc. The finished product will always be better than new, as it is now hoped that they will be around for years, rather than the expectations at the time (maybe 5 missions).

The link below will take you to the site of the Fighter Collection, who are based at Duxford in England. From there you will find links to other companies; in particular look for firms in New Zealand and the USA.
today, maybe if you are Bill Gates or the King of Saudi you might afford it.
