O2 sensor on car broke?

My car has been running very poorly, cutting out when driving along, no juddering, just dies, plus theres a rev limiter, this could be a fail safe, when i rev it fully, the engine dies. Mainly on cold mornings but continues all day. No the leads, arm, injector unit. Had them al replaced, got the exhaust fixed it was blowing but that didnt fix it. Someone said it might be the lamda sensor or O2 sensor, or a possible cat failure. Its off to the diagnostic machine tomorrow to find the problem. Any ideas?
The car is a renault clio 1.4 manual petrol monoinjection about 10 years old.

I don't believe that a failed oxygen sensor will cause your problems. When the computer gets bad or no info from an oxygen sensor it will simply switch to open loop. This is a condition where the computer stops monitoring and adjusting the engine functions. It runs in a preset type mode. In fact, until the O2 sensor reaches 600 degrees, it runs in open loop. This happens every morning. When the engine is cold, it runs in open loop until the exhaust gases heat the little thing up. Most of the time a bad sensor simply decreases the performance a little, decreases gas mileage, and increases gas consumption and emissions. Most cars will run acceptably with a bad oxygen sensor.
Once they put it on the scanner and get the trouble codes, you'll have a better idea. Bad O² sensor wouldn't kill the engine.
Since this is a 10 year old Frog car, it could be worn out. Whoever replaced all that had a field day and lightened your wallet. Find a good mechanic who will diagnose and test before putting on parts. The diagnosis is relatively cheap, all things considered.
I would advise to run from it while there is still a shred of hope.I had one that was a nickle and dime car a real piece of junk
There could be a multitute of causes for the problem and replacing parts can be an expensive way to solve it.

Get the diagnostic check with the agreement it will find the solution to your problem and not just turn it into a technician's guessing game!

It is very unlikely more than one part is defective and a good diagnosis will give a trouble code pinpointing the bad part.
it could be.or could even come up as a bad one but isnt.the sensor works to tell how much fuel and oxygen to give the engine. if it is sending back wrong information, the computer might think that it needs to keep changing the fuel/air ratio till it eventually dies and needs to be restarted..or it could just run bad all day..everything from the O2 sensor to the injectors could be the problem.mass air flow sensors, throtle position indicators, air/fuel mapping..and whichever it is, the code could come back as something else.example.a faulty injector or mass air flow sensor could change your air/fuel ratio and the code that comes back could be your O2 sensor or the mapping..this is a difficult problem to diagnose..i wish you the best of luck
if it stops suddenly, could be crank angle sensor, try the coil pack, could be breaking down, seen this before on same engine but r9 lreg, cured that one after changing endless items
