Revised question - Do You know the location of the schooner Vanessa Ann Ex Trawler last seen UK Bristol 90?
Answers:
Yep.I found her.
The Vanessa Ann is now docked in Bridgetown, Barbados where she is a "hands-on" excursion boat.
Here's a clip from a N.Y. Times article from their "Travel" section dated Nov. 15, 1987:
"We decided to try the Vanessa Ann, the newest, and to us the most appealing ship docked in Bridgetown. Unlike many excursion boats, which try to create a party atmosphere, the Vanessa Ann simply provides a really good sailing experience. A crew of eight set the 12 sails. With a total of 6,000 square feet of sail on the square-rigged foremast and the gaff-rigged mid- and aft masts, the Vanessa Anna moved along at a nice clip even though there wasn't much wind. The 145-foot ship is a converted trawler that once fished for cod off Iceland, according to the captain, David Waight.
A buffet lunch of chicken, salads and, an island specialty, fried flying fish, was served in an air-conditioned room that was once a fish hold. The trip, which was scheduled to last four hours, actually took six because of an unusual southerly wind. No one complained.
On a couple of afternoons, we took drives through the countryside, past the ruins of windmills, quaint coral chapels and fields where men in dapper whites were playing cricket.
We stopped at the ''animal flower cave'' on the rugged northern tip of the island to see the sea anemones in the recesses of a cliff. At a stand there, I bought a $15 coral necklace, which, an islander later told me, was probably made in Thailand and shipped to Barbados via New York. (At a Best of Barbados shop near our hotel we bought locally made souvenirs.) Down the East Coast, at the Atlantis Hotel in the fishing village of Bathsheba, we enjoyed one of the island's most popular Sunday lunch buffets. For $14.40 a person we helped ourselves from three huge tables loaded with such things as spinach balls, pumpkin fritters, edoes, sweet potatoes, roast beef, flying fish and dolphin (the fish, not the mammal). We drank bentle, a refreshing lime juice drink with nutmeg, cherries and Angostura bitters. For dessert, the cassava pone, a kind of custard dish, was out of this world. Reservations are essential (809-433-9445) and ask for a table on the veranda.
Hope this helps ya.
