Plane or ferry, which is safer?
Answers:
Ferry-everytime. I'm biased though, I'm terrified of flying. We holiday in the southern french alpes and drive there evertime now as i have BIG panic attacks on planes! Also, you're not waiting around for 3 hours before travel on a ferry. And you can take in the country you are going to.
Have a good time, whatever your decision x
id say ferry
definitely ferry
both dive into the water
a plane ,ferry's could have AIDS
Hmm.. I feel more comfortable on the Ferry than the plane. So Ferry is ok. But in terms of conveneince Plane does the trick!
If its somewhere in Europe you are going Like (France) then the Train through eurotunnel is best for you.
Plane. Ferries are notorious dangerous and are affected by adverse maritime conditions.
Its less hassle with a ferry.
But you can go further by plane.
Just decide on your desination first. Then see what method of transport is best to get there.
can you fly? at least you have a chance to swim if a ferry goes down
If the ferry starts to sink at least you have a chance of swimming. If a plane goes down, you dont have a chance
My friend was afraid of flying so he took the ferry, but it sank,a plane hit it!
A few years ago, there was a guy who was on a flight that crashed, he was on his way to catch a cruise ship for a holiday.
He was lucky to survive.
Then the ship sank!
He survived that too, not sure if that makes him lucky or very unlucky.
I heard somewhere that planes are by far the safest form of travelling, I don't know whats happened now though with all the news and stuff.
I'd say ferry as they have lifeboats. Isn't it awful that we now think like this when we want to go anywhere?
My friend is scared of flying, so he went by ferry.
It sank.
A plane hit it!
probably ferry
both can unsafe, zeebrugge disaster and too many crashes to mention
Commercial air travel is simply THE safest form of transportation. Statistics show taking a shower or climbing the stairs at home is 10 times more dangerous than flying.
Ferries would be the obvious answer, as if something disastrous does happen, they tend to sink more slowly than a plane crashes. However both have excellent safety records (in Western Europe at least). If you are travelling from the UK to France or Belgium there is, of course, the additional option of taking the train through the Channel Tunnel, which to date has a 100% safety record.
I'd go by plane any day it's quicker, I hate boats, and I can't believe no one has commented on 9/11. That makes no difference to me at all after all we all have to go sometime and if it's meant to be it will be and nothing will stop fate. You could give up travelling long distances altogether if you're that worried but you could be run over by a bus in your own town. Stop worrying so much, choose your destination and go and have a great time. Happy holidays.
Why a question of safety? You can take more stuff with you on a ferry, but getting from A to B may take longer. If you are leaving the UK then what about the EuroStar. Quicker than a ferry, and not dependant on the weather.
i would say ferry is the safest but flying is the fastest
I would have to say the ferry. You can float for a long time. You do not have much chance surviving a fall from 30,000 feet.
I realize that most crashes are on take-off or landing, but you are still going 100+ miles per hour on both occasions without airbags in front of you.
None of them are safe everyday we face dangers (cars, trains, walking down the street etc.) it's just pure luck and being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Plane, hands down.
either way you might end up in the ocean. A ferry could sink and a plane can crash
They're both fine really, I personally think the design of the ferries is so top-heavy they should kill 10,000 people a week but they don't. remember you know about every single accident either has, so that shows how few actually occur.
Ferry..cos I can swim but I can't fly
They are both completely safe to travel on. There are irresponsible people out there that make us have doubts about safety and travel
