we r visitng the uk and going back home at the end of this week. i have a 2 yr old daughter. we dont have a car and use taxis when we need to. will we be fined for not using a car seat? pl help.

Answers:
Taxi's are exempt from the new law that comes into effect today.
No i shouldnt think so,i would have thought it would be up to the taxi companies to provide the car seats,
You may well get fined as the new law today say's that your daughter needs a seat. If she's in a taxi the law's different, she will not need one then, but if your worried get a friend or family member to ask if they can borrow one for you to use for your trip.
In a licensed taxi or licensed hire car, if a child restraint is not available then the child may travel unrestrained in the rear. This is the only exemption, and has been introduced for practical rather than safety reasons. You should always think about ways to make sure that a child seat is available.
if you go onto the website about car seat laws it will explain all but just on my information the law says that aslong as you are in a licenced taxi a child is aloud without a car seat
