Range Rover Classic Coolant System?

I have been flushing the coolant system on my RRC, the book says that you must fill it up from the radiator filler until it is full, then half fill the expansion tank. When i was re-filling the system, by the time i had filled the radiator, the expansion tank was full to the top!!

Doesn't seem right to me. Is there a blockage? (when flushed the water ran clean.)

Please help going off roading on SAT!!

Answers:
The purpose of the expansion tank is to fill the radiator with fluid once the radiator contracts (cools) and remove fluid from the radiator once it gets hot (expands), thus called an expansion tank. The radiator itself is what you need to concentrate on filling. The expansion tank you fill along the way as you drive the car and notice it get low. You shouldn't really fill from the radiator once you know it is full.
start engine and watch if it doesn't go down make sure 3-4 full and go for it

yes they are brill man
Just let the eng. run until the thermostat opens (ch. the coolant temp. at the guage in dash, or even better a thermometer) to make sure the thermostat is OK. Preassure test the system. and make sure your cooling fans opperate properly! If alls well; go have a blast!
