How fast can a 125cc motorcycle go?

top speed ?

Answers:
it depends on the model, and weight of the rider , but 13hp is the minium for freeways and is lucky to do 60 mph. there are race versions that will do 90 mph :)
A GP 125 can do upwards of 150 mph depending on gearing, not bad for a single cylinder is it.
Depends how far you twist your right hand!
75/80 mph
about 90-100 mph unless it has a jet kit or custom pipe
65-75mph
To a degree the gearing will determine how fast it can go.

Increasing the size of the front sprocket or decreasing the size of the rear will increase speed. However that will decrease the the acceleration and will take longer to reach top speed. Of course the transmission and number of gears also determines top speed.

Hope this helps.
I've managed 70mph out of a Suzuki. A 125 on average can achieve a top theoretical speed of 62 mph.
In general you wouldn't want to drive this bike on the highway unless it is for a short time. You'd be at full throttle most of the ride. Cheers!
my first bike was a suzuki rg125 it used to do a top speed of 100 mph my mate had a aprilla rs125 and it used to get to 110mph the fastest 125 would be the cagiva meto which i belive will wind up to 118 mph so depends on what bike you get but as for the aprilla and cagiva the upkeep is more than a suzuki or yamaha
How long is a piece of string, basically the Honda CB125T of the 1980s could manage about 80 but most are now restricted to 12 bhp and 65 to 70 mph.
If you want top speed there are some very fast unrestricted 125s but if you have to use a restricted bike for license purposes the best anwer is reduce air resistance with low handlebars rear set footrests and a race fairing and wear race leathers and if you change to a smaller rear sprocket you could be looking at 80 mph 90 for a Honda 125 derestricted using the old model bits but the acceleration will be worse than stock up to about 55 mph.
I
In 12 hp trim expect about 70mph. The "liberated" bikes can put out anything up to about 20-25 hp and maybe hit a ton.
Basically all 125's are pooh in a straight line but one good thing is that you don't have to slow down for the corners!
Two stroke or four?
You're question is far too vague!

Do you mean road legal? Production? On the road, or simply on a dyno? From Real speed calculating tools, or simply from the notoriously inacurrate speedometers on vehicles?

Basically, racing 125's can hit about 130-150 if tuned right, but the engines wont last long at all, and certainly would not be road legal.
A road legal UK 125 for a rider on a CBT and L plates 70mph tops, unrestricted, fastest i've been is 108mph on a Aprilia RS125. But i've heard the Cagiva Mito can pull damn near 120 with a light rider going downhill.
