What are the possible effects of a bad carburetor in acar?

Poor slow running, less economy, sometimes runs erratic, sometimes cuts out when stopping, poor starting . to name a few

You vaste more gas and more oil. You pollute the weather more.
Poor idling, bad fuel economy, bad emissions, cold start problems, overall poor performance and ultimately engine damage (too much fuel getting through can "wash" the bores of the engine and cause premature wear).
