Proton compact gcsi 1500 1997-1998 ( posona compact)?
secondly the car was running like crap but it will not run at all now it is down to the enging timeing i think could any one tell me what the engine sequence is for the time for this car, as we cant find a manual for this car basicaly i need to know what is number one piston and the possition of the distributer to fire corectly thank you for your help.

Hum. It could have slipped a timing belt notch or two. As the belt slipped, it ran a little rougher and rougher until it slipped enough to not run at all.
Also, if it has a distributor, there is a possibility that the rotor iit mounts on the shaft inside is bad, or the cap itself is bad. There is also a magnetic pickup inside the distributor on some if not all cars, that is at the lower part of what you can see, just under the rotor.
As far as a manual, or to ask about the firing order, number one cylnder, you might try on line, or call an auto parts supplier.
