Car exhausts?

i have a 1.6 escort and am tuning it up is it possible for me to fit a 1.8 exhausts maybe even 2 but would this help my engine

Answers:
with a welder you can make any exhaust fit any car. the 1.8 exhaust is the same bore as the 1.6, so you wouldnt gain anything. go for a xr3i system with 4 branch manifold. you should gain around 5 - 10 bhp. not worth the money. do a ztec transpant with weber carburators. much better. stay away from the 2 exhaust scenario, looks tacky if its not done to the highest standard along with suitable body styling.
Anything that helps it inhale and exhale easier always helps. Do you breath better through a coffee stiring straw or a papertowel tube?
if it gives you power it will be higher up in the rev. less power down low where you dayly drive.what you dont need is less torque, more is best.just the muffler more free flowing is enough but not a too loud one ,and advance the timing is a biggie
take a left turn. it should be right there
If you've got the CVH engine, you'll be talking 110BHP. Buy a decent air filter and a Janspeed exhaust. you should get up to about 120/125BHP. A factory Ford exhaust won't help much, they're built to a price and strangle power.
if done to legally specks, yes I would say to some extent
I am afraid they would not fit, different aperture's and fitting , it would also lower you exuast manifold back pressure which would make it run slower and sluggish
