Car booster seats?

my brother is 9 and he is 135cm tall, does he still need a booster seat?

Answers:
If you are in the UK the answer is yes, as he needs to be over 1m 45 cm in height. This is now law. Halfords and Toys r Us etc all have height charts to check.
Probably not. The law in most states is 80 pounds and 8 years old.
You need to check this out with the police as to whether the criteria is age or height. I would think it would be age because you see many adults who are very short driving around and who if it was height would need a booster seat. Good question.

Became Law yesterday!
Actually the new law states that if anyone is under 4ft 10inches, and i think, under 12 years old, they must have a booster seat to be safe - you can get them anywhere and it is better to be safe than sorry.
when he sits in the car if the belt is looking like its to tight to his neck then yes
You should check the laws governing your state. Most places go by weight and age, not height. Some of my aunts were only 4 ft. tall and they did not have to have a booster seat.
if he is under 4.5 feet then yes. I herd on the news today fines can be made of up to £500 if you are found with a child not using this rule and on-the-spot fines of £30 can be made !
no,as soon as my daughter 6 I got rid of the booster seat.
I dont think he does as it is up to 135cm. Oh maybe he should just stay in it till hes another cm tall.

The law came into force from this month.
The new law states that all children under the age of 11 most have a booster seat x
As from this september the law is changing the rules of children and car booster seats. The age of the child now has nothing to do with them having a seat or not, it all depends on the hight and also the waight of the child. its best to look up the new law that is in place but i would say yes he still needs a booster seat as i think the law states that any child under 150cm tall should use a seat.
If the belt is over his neck instead of his chest regardless of hight or wieght heb should be on a booster seat
No he does not ,he is 4 feet 4in and that is fine if he weighs
60 lbs or more .
Also this varies from state to state. some states say must be
55 inches which would be 4.7 and weigh 80 lbs .
hope this helps .
By the new law coming soon under twelve and less than 5ft 4ins will have to have booster seats by law.
Assuming you are in the UK, check out RoSPA's site for all the details. It's over the age of 12 or the height of 1.35 metres.
I thought the law was 4ft10 and 12 years old, but you need to talk to the police or other authorites for clear guidance!
a new law is coming in which states that kids up to the age of 12 have to have a booster seat because seat belts are designed for larger adults. most places like halfords have new ranges of the seats in now ready for when the law comes into effect, but im not 100% when that is
