the lock has been mangled (I assume) inside so the key jams halfway in and won't insert anymore - have been told that to remove lock key needs to be turned too but not pos. What would you recommend and Is drilling it an option?

if they key will not go fully in and turn the only way to get it out would be to drill it hope this helps.
