With the height of trucks on the motorway what is the minium height of the overhead gantrys and bridges?



Answers:
at least 16'6". although a bridge near the tyne tunnel had subsidence and was only 16'2" clearance, how we all laughed when the excavator knocked it down!
15' 4" in the US.
I believe the min height is around 13 or 14 ft
the minium height of cables is 6.4 metres nearly 19 foot on high route roads so this means bridges and gantries are usually higher
some box trailers on a unit can stand over 15 foot high so work out the clearance
ALL BRIDGES IN THE UK ON MOTORWAYS ARE 16FOOT 6 INS ALL CABLES SHOULD BE THE SAME
all bridges are 16foot 6 unless otherwise stated
