Lancaster over Holme Moss 10.9.06??
Answers:
It will have been Lancaster PA474 from the BoB Flight en route or returning from an airshow, suprised there wasnt a Spitfire with it. The Lanc is the only flying example left in the UK.
Ask the air force.
We had 6 fly over a couple of days ago,I'm in Lancashire
There is a Lancaster with the Battle of Britian Memorial Flight based at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire .. They also have a number of Spitfires and a Hurricane that also fly, plus a Dakota that is used to ferry there ground support team around.
In lincolnshire there is also a Lancaster that is a non flyer but is based at the Aviation Heritage Center which I believe is at wickenby that has regular engine start ups and taxying displays.
