Ford Ka2 - Rear wiper not working!?

I have a 1998 Ford Ka2, but the rear wiper has stopped working. Any ideas? Suspect it could be the motor, but rumour has it that to replace the motor will cost between £110 - £150, which I'm reluctant to pay out.. any truth that this is how much the motors cost?

Answers:
This is a well-known problem with the KA, due to the poor earthing of the rear wiper motor.

It is earthed through the tailgate hinges to the main body, instead through one extra wire to a good earth point on the main body. The hinge pins corrode and stop making good electrical contact.

One fix is to install a loop of wire at the top of the tailgate to provide a more reliable electrically connection to the body.

The other one is to remove the hinge pins, clean them up and refit them. With the aid of a helper, you can remove one pin at a time without taking the tailgate off.
if it's the motor get a replacement one from the scrap yard or a 'factored' one then take it to the garage and ask for it to be fitted. you might be better off with a small garage - little guy working on his own type - will be cheaper. But best to get it looked at first incase it's wiring and not the motor. Still get a scrap or factored part though.
Before you spend the money, check that it's not that the screw on the wiper mechanism is loose.

I realise that you're probably not that dumb, but thanks for the 2 points anyway.
check your fuses and wiring first. if it is the motor try a scrapyard or ebay, easy to fit and a second hand one will prob cost around £15
yes it probably does they are not cheap to buy but all fords are made cheaply
Steve L is spot on with his answer, the easiest way ive found of curing it is to take the latch for the boot off of the body of the car and rub a little paint of with sandpaper and refit, this lets it earth through there and saves taking the hinges off
first silly me check the fuse if ok check the switch if ok run ahot feed to the wiper motor if not ok then go to a scrappers for it there might be a ford scrappers in your area a lot cheaper
also if your tailgate has 3 brass pins and a strip of 3 brass plates on the body check that these are clean, on some vehicals this is how the connection is made to the rear wipers but not all.
