What year did speeding fines have to be declared on car insurance applications?

Answers:
They have always been a declarable item because they are a material fact which can affect insurers view of whether you are acceptable risk at the usual premium
at least 4 years ago, as I found out when looking for quotes before renewing.
Since forever geezer, looks like you've 'forgotten' to mention yours..tut, tut.
If you do get caught for speeding, it's best to let your insurance company know immediately. If you do have a claim in the future, at least they can't penalise you for what you have already declared. (ie the speeding offence)
