Hi i own a mtx 125cc please tell me which way the petrol tap go's to turn it off, thank's in advance. Jon
Answers:
Straight down is normally down, horizontal is off and straight up is reserve.
It should be marked on it, but its in the centre.
is it a vacuum operated tap? if so it should have 2 pipes on the back, one for fuel outlet and the other thinner pipe goes to your inlet rubber. when the engine is running it sucks on the diaphragm in the tap and allows fuel to run out. disconnect the fat pipe and turn the tap till it stops running. it probably only has 2 positions, on or reserve. leave in the on position and it should be okay, if not turn it to the other position, if it still runs fuel you have a dodgy tap and are relying on your float to stop it running. be ready with a fuel proof container to catch what is in the tank.NO SMOKING! good luck. ;-)
I think it's mostly assumed that vertical (or straight down) is on and Horizontally (pointing back or front) is off.
Horizontal is off.
Down is on, up is reserve, to the left shuts it of.
