Get the magazine "Boats & Yachts" for sale and there you will find brokers that specialize in what you are looking for and also lots of private sales for liveaboard boats with moorings and constant cruising. You will also find lots of web sites listed which will lead you to your dream boat.

Try boats and outboards-big section of canal boats all over the country.
This could be expensive,the mooring I mean the magazine used to be called boats & planes for sale. My boat is for sale but she has a15ft beam so definately not a canal boat we have lived & cruised for 13years on her it breaks my heart but I have to get ashore now! She is magnificent! Canal Boat magazine would be the place to start, you then need to trawl through the adverts in the back.
It'll be tough to find a residential boat of good quality these days. You'll be paying more that a flat ( if saving money was your idea )
Either way, best of luck with. Unfortunately its like looking for a house, you have to trawl aroud the marinas/brokers on a regular basis and be at the right place at the right time.
