How do i make my vance and hines exhaust quieter!?

my exhaust is too loud and attracting the wrong soprt of attention. bought some baffles and they dont fit as hole is too small. how about i just shove some wire wool down?

Answers:
Obviously the baffles aren't for those pipes. Get the correct ones. Once you have those look into wrapping them with some high quality silencer/muffler packing. I prefer "Silent Sport" brand and have had excellent results with them.

If the pipes will allow it (I.E. room) you can weld two baffles together and insert them into each pipe, then wrap them with packing. The V&H bagger style pipes respond real well to this modification giving a nice throaty tone with-out being obnoxiously loud and still providing a good flow rate.

To the gentleman below.

Loud pipes DO NOT save lives, proper training, responsible riding and safety equipment do. Loud pipes piss people off causing us more uneeded legislation and lose riding areas for us.

Less sound = More ground
You could put wire wool in them. However, you are defeating the purpose of the pipes, they were designed to be load. Time to get some stock replacements. Check to see if there is a forum for the make and model of bike you ride. You should be able to find someone selling their stock exhaust. Ride free and stay safe.
Vanes and Hines is the best exhaust you can put on a v-twin. I`d live with the noise. Look them up on the web and get instructions on how to install those baffles.
Replace them with the originals if you want a quieter ride, after all V+H are supposed to be loud
LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES!
Steel wool will shoot out, probably on fire. Check catlogs for glass packs or baffles of th e correct size,or smaller. If you end up will a smaller o.d. you can make a collar to custom fit to the inside of your pipe. You might also contact Vance and Hines yourself to see if they have a more effective baffle for the pipes.
If it is that loud it has been messed with. Get the replacement baffles and packing for that pipe and it should bring down the noise.

put the stock pipes back on. Aftermarket pipes are usually louder on purpose, people like the noise. The stock pipes will quiet down your sweet ride.
