Best I can get is twice the thickness of a normal cruiser or "extra thick"
Not much help I'm afraid.
Hi - QM2 is like any other ship (worked in the cruise industry for 11+ years myself) - the hull of a ship has many different thicknesses depending on the area. Typically the bow (incl. bulbous bow) is the thickest one followed by the keel (could be oposite) and then stern and finally ship sides. The steel is typically thicker around openings (shell doors) etc. The size of QM2 is enormous - the thicknesses would vary from 48mm down to 18 or 20 mm.
You will need to get in contact with the design team at Chantier De L'Atlantique (building yard) or the onboard engineering team.
However - I have some contacts and will try to find out and post a new answer for you.
