How do I check on a Vehicle I have just purchased to see if details I have been given r true?
Answers:
get the aa involved before you purchase i think it costs about £30 if you are not a member, they check the history of the car as well as checking it for defects

You can contact the DVLA with the vehicles details and they will tell you im not sure if you have to pay a fee though.
Unfortunately the best time to check those details is before you buy the car.
You can contact the DVLA if you live in the UK and request details but they require you to provide very good reasons for releasing the information due to the constraints of the Data Protection Act.
Good luck!
HPI check, if its was a trade sale ie from a garage, car super market, dearlership by law they have to have and produce a HPI check.

It`s a bit late if you`ve bought it unless you can give it back. Hope it`s not a classic "pig in a poke".
you were suposed to do that before you bought it.
the only way you can check the mlilage is to examine the mot certificates and servicing reciepts
it would have been a real good idea to have done all of this before the purchase,,because regardless of what you find now ,,your kind of stuck with it all the previous owner has to say is he didn't know about it,,and he,s off the hook as for finding out about it,,do a title search,,and go back and see if the title shows more miles then it does now, your local ..dmv,, can do this other than that there really is nothing you can find out about it,,car fax isn't that accurate,,it only has the info on it,,if it has ever been in a bad accident,,other wise it wont be listed on car fax,,at all ,,this is one of those things you might should have done before you bought it,,but if you can find some of the previous owners before him,,you might find out at least the mileage,,and maybe more,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s,,i own a repair shop,,and sometimes help some of my customers do this before they buy a car,,i hope this help,s.
They are required by law to give you the previous owners name and contact #
most sales people will tell u what you want to hear. since u already purchased to vehicle does it really matter? if there is doubt now; then obviously there was something else that made u buy that car. why ruin your pleasure of your new purchase? just dont bother with that salesperson again and dont reffer them to anyone. Enjoy your new car !
I agree, this was best to have been done before you purchased the car. You could go to the AA to verify the mileage and the DVLA for any other queries you may have.
try to sell it
A bit late now you have bought it but try HPI, they have a web site. Next time do it before you buy.
