How much should I pay for a second hand car?
Answers:
its a renault, they depreciate, and every day, its worth a little less. look at autotrader, and see what the avergae price is.
remember this, no one sells a car for no reason. they know something you dont. like teh engine is on its last legs, and needs a rebore etc cuz itll never pass the emissions on the next MOT.or something of that ilk. which while not terminal, is going to cost a fortune to put right. like the CAT, it may need replacing, and its 800quid, if i flog the car, its not my problem is it.
ive made a good living at this game for over 30 years, and its full of sharks, im no different really, but i dont buy lemons, and i dont sell them. all i have is my reputation.
if you dont know, get an AA report. itll be money well spent, and if they make a mess of eh report, and its a lemon welded together, you can claim against them for your losses.
get hold of a copy of the trade price list Glass's guide, or an up to date motor magazine with the price listings, if something seems to be too good to be true, it usually is..buyer beware
Id check with at least 1 more mechanic.
get it check by AA cost about £60 to be safe.

Try checking out http://www.kbb.com
It is Kelly Blue Book & it gives you the value on new & used cars of nearly all makes & models!
150 pounds less than what they are asking for it!then you have the money to do the repairs!
Good luck from Dortmund Germany
I would chech with either the RAC od the AA. You can get a authorised mechanic to check the car over fro you, all for about £60.00. You could also check the price against numerous websites, or buy a used car guide such as Parkers. Dont part with your money until you are 100% sure
you have to ask howmuch gonna costs you for it's M.O.T & full insurance , moreover howmuch fund you need to fix expected mechnical problems ! honnestley god if i were you never think about it .

Try :
www.wisebuyers.co.uk
and compare with similar clios for sale @
www.autotrader.co.uk
I hope this helps.
If the price seems way too low compared with similar Clios in autotrader than its either been involved in an accident (a potential cut-and-shut) or stolen.
Maybe both.
Was the mechanic independent or linked to the seller of the vehicle?
