no, selling cars on ebay is a good way to make alot of money.. but BUYING cars on ebay is foolish.
i bought a car from ebay and was over the moon, bargain and really nice person selling it, i'm as honest as they come so i wouldn't worry about getting conned or owt, there are good peeps out there! good luck
its a 1 litre polo, will it ever be described well???
Good try mate. you are not aloud to sell or to advertise things here .. reported.
If you do sell it on ebay, make sure they oay you either by certified cashiers check or money order. And yes, I have heard many horror stories of people selling there cars on ebay and getting ripped off by people writing bad checks.
Dont accept any payment method except cash on collection. You are less likely to be scammed that way.
You could describe the bodywork condition, any minor defects, scratches etc, better to be upfront about these things.
Other than that it looks fine, good luck!
Hey I'm selling my car also you should try craglist its free craglist.org
it was in the papers the other week that a mother and her son went to buy a
car of ebay and when they went to pick it up the people robbed all there money i think it was about 5000 there must be good cars out there but i'd say becareful.
in my experience using ebay to sell a car you should either have a buy it now price or set a reserve so that you dont end up having to sell at a silly price, also ask your buyer to pay in cash and not use paypal as you will have to pay a high percentage in fees.
i have bought two vehicles through ebay, and got a good buy from a good seller each time. as long as you are honest in your decription, and put some decent photos on you should get plenty of interest. also invite buyers to view the car before they place a bid if they choose, and stipulate in your ad that the winning bid buys the car at that price and may not haggle and tyre kick. its usually a good idea to check out any ebayers that have less than 10 feedback, get them to email or call you before you accept their bids, people with 0 feedback or negative feedback may just be scammers or timewasters.
dont forget with ebay your ad reaches hundreds of thousands of people all over the country, that would never get to see it otherwise, i travelled to wales and to bristol to collect my minibuses, so dont think you will only get nterest from your local area.
id say give it a go, and good luck with selling your car, and also congrats on your great idea to get extra free advertising using this site, lol
If i was u.i would only accept payment by PayPal..that way the buyer feels better because ur not seeing thier Credit card info.and u receive payment FAST..
Describe the car in GRAPHIC DETAIL..Name everything that is wrong with it.take as many photos as u can so that the buyer knows exactly whats going on with the car..u dont want negative feedback because u didnt describe the car right..
I would also do pick up only.because to ship a car is VERY EXPENSIVE..so that way u would get more serious buyers too..
Good Luck..
Get rid of the paypal logos unless you are willing to accept the risks associated with taking paypal, especially for that amount of money.
I bought a 2001 Corvette on ebay and saved about 9 thousand dollars. We paid with a certified check and we also checked the guy out before we bought it. Husband was very surprised by that purchase. He no longer complains about me buying stuff of ebay!!
no its not bad selling on eBay you just have to be careful not to part with your vehicle until you have the cash no cheques it is more risk buying than selling just need to be careful not to part with anything either way only when you have cash ask eBay if you are not sure they are very help full discrepant seams fine
why would you want to sell your car on e-bay and give some of your profit to them when you can keep all your money and sell it on the street?
I have both brought and sold on eBay without problem , but i know of others who have had people not paying or haggling when they come to collect , best advice is make sure your description is accurate , if there is anything wrong with the car then mention it , that includes minor dents or scratches , if the stereo works , interior marked etc , don't worry about putting people off i saw a listing on eBay where the ad slated the item , saying how bad it was , and the bids were coming in fast , and it got a better price than 1 similar which was described as good .
