Percy Shaw
Sir Percy Shaw of Halifax
percy shaw, he was driving down the country lane in thick fog, he missed the bend and the only thing that saved him from crashing into the wall was a cat cos of the reflection of its eyes in the cars headlights hence the name cats eyes
Yes, percy shaw, aparently when he sold or patented the idea (whatever he did with it) he only asked for 1 pence or some really small value for every cats-eye used.

The guy died a millionaire.

However, this could all just be rumour.
