UK only - why dont drivers (mostly men) use the indicater at roundabouts??
Answers:
They do this in every country its just laziness i reckin
This REALLY annoys, are other drivers supposed to be telepathic or something? I even indicate when there are no cars around out of habit, I hear that this can get you a fault on your driving test for excessive signalling which is quite blatantly stupid! I think people do it as they are lazy!
because you women shd know where we are looking to go
whats an indicator ?
just lazy, they think people can read their minds. they know where they are going so everybody else should. its a man thing!
because they (unlike women) know where they are going
It's not just men, it's everyone. We're all to bloody lazy at times. You probably see more men do it because there are more men driving on the roads!
I think they know where they are going so why indecate after all it is not your business to know, (thats what they think not me)
It is not compulsory to use an indicator, it is just polite.
Do you think it's a male thing? I've not noticed that, I think it's pretty equal between male and females!
Because they dont know there elbow from an indicator and they have the attitude that they are the only ones on the road so it doesnt matter anyway! he he he.
Cause their male cant do too many things at once .
Brake, accelerate, turn steering wheel, think where to get off, that's quite good for a man to do all at once.
Just because us males know where we are going, do the whole world need to? I indicate most times, but then how do you indicate on a 2 junction roundabout? Thats the nightmare I have!
Also, If you look at the floor a majority of roundabouts have road markings telling you what exit, the lqane that car is in is taking.
Anyway enough defence here, why is it women don't indicate at roundabouts and struggle to switch lanes on a motorway? (Where I might add they leave there indicators on for such a long period of time you think they are trying to take an exit that exisits in there mind only!) I am not being sexist here, because there are males who do similar things but if the questionteer is being sexist, why can I not?
It is just pure laziness, and in my experience it's pretty much equal between the sexes. Just to clarify another point raised, whilst you don't HAVE to signal everywhere, you could be had up for driving without due care and attention if you don't. Basically, always indicate where it will benefit someone else. If it doesn't, then don't.
Actually I'd sooner have no signal on the grounds that most people who actually do signal at roundabouts do so incorrectly.
indicators, what indicators??
It is not just men, it is both genders.
I put it down to a mix of older driver and hence older teaching practices as well as a general lack of respect and disregard for fellow road users.
Have some manners and help make everyones journeys a little less stressful by giving us a clue where you are going - that is if you have a clue where you are going.
Tell me about it. It's not just roundabouts nor just men. I even get vehicles turning right on main roads without signalling! Perhaps it's getting to be 'uncool' to signal. My horn is getting warn out. Bad language is getting better though!
I'm amazed that you think that men are the main culprits. But when it comes to dithering at roundabouts you ladies take the biscuit every time.
Could be the same reason that buses don't, Why waste electric?
Seriously, if you drive to the Institute of advanced motorists code (or wheel through hands brigade) you should only indicate or "give information" if there is someone to give information to. It's a pain in the neck when your sat at a roundabout waiting to pull out and someone dives off down your road and you miss the gap. I wouldn't say it was mostly men, but the young, old and the 4four wheel drives who seem to think they own the road and never take them off road so why do they need one. Oh yeah, for the school run to impress the other parents.
My dad has been involved in 3 accidets, one of which were was very serious, all of them were caused by women. 2 rear end shunts, the other serious one when a women pulled out in front of him on a main road, and yes she was in a chelsea tractor. Although some men are pretty bad drivers too its just the ways in which they are bad differ.
its because they are so used to women being the superior sex that they think that we are physic as well as driving our cars safely and responsibly .
