Which sporty car should i buy?

I just got a good job and have a bit of extra money floating about. I want to buy somthing sporty for the weekend but dont know what to go for! priced at the highest 17000, and i will only need to use it at weekends so dosent have to be practical. I like old and new cars, kit cars, quite like the brabus forfour. Wat do you all think?

its about 46 thow, but dont you love yourself? ;)
You should get a used porshe or a used corvette. Cherry Red.
how about a used 1975 or so triumph TR-6 convertible.
they are a gas to drive. and great on the highway too. (fast)
nissan 350 ..or a 60 (or 59) caddy convertible
Hyundai Tiburon - New Car, sporty Look, great warranty program, reasonable HP.

Nissan 350 - 5 yr used car, really sporty look, bad warranty program, wonderful HP plus 'S' curved hairs in seats & floor mats (you can't perfectly clean those shits..)
Caterham 7. 2.0 or bigger if possible but even the 1.6 is stupidly quick.
You won't get better performance per £, even from a Porsche, Ferrari etc..
Or if you fancy a bit of a gamble my mate had a Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera, 1985 C-reg, worth about £13k, nice car but expensive just for weekends.
Mitsubishi eclips .. i find them nice .. and good bang for your buck .. check out teh new models :) i wouldnt get an old used car .. i.e model 1999 and below . coz i wouldnt enjoy teh ride if it gave me problems .. look at eclips .. or hyundai TIBURON . good cars . and teh cheapest :P . if you goaead an got an old used car .. youll be frustrated more than satisfied
Since you don't have enough money to buy the new Mustang Cobra GT. Why not get a Mustang GT 5 speed. I have a screemer. Money couldn't buy it. I put a Jasper engine in it. Get one very clean. Make sure it was never in an accident. Check it's record. You can always build it later. We all wish we kept our old race cars, they'd be worth a fortune now. But please don't just get a Mustang. Why bother if it's not a GT 5 speed stick. Don't race it though, it's too expensive to replace the parts. Great for a Sunday drive. Need a couple of bars, so it doesn't get stolen though, even if it's in a garage. I've got an alarm, kill switch, and 2 bars on mine. Money couldn't buy it. I love it. If you don't have an alarm, just get a bar that goes from the brake to the wheel, and a bar across the wheel. My brother likes Cobras, (too cool) and Camaros, but I like Mustang GT's or Cobras. If you get the cadilac converters taken off, it'll roar. If it's older, they don't check that. People are selling their V8's. Gas cost too much.
An S2000, that would be good! Or what about an Rx8 !!!!
Audi TT. They are lovely to look at and lovely to drive..
Buy a Nissan Skyline R34 GTR and its eats Porsches for breakfast and ferraris for lunch!
As a weekend fun car i don't think you could beat a Lotus Elise and you should get a really good one for £17k - cheap to run too. It's a 'proper' sports car - 2 seats, mid engined, rear wheel drive and great to drive (I had three before the divorce!!).

A Brabus Forfour might be quick but personally i wouldn't call it a sports car.

Whatever you get - enjoy.
If you do not mind getting used one, buy Toyota Solara convertible.

Very handsome design, extremely nice ride.

This will rock you.

But since you only have $1,7000, I think you need to buy the used one.

I know this will sound a bit lame but y not go for a Vauxhall Astra VXR 2005/6 model. Not many around. 2.0L 16v. I would get one if the insurance wasnt so high!
how about a aeriel atom for 17000 g u wont get the supercharged model but u can have a proper good weekend in one of these
Too many options for £17K, but here's my wish list

Audi RS2
Audi RS4 (possibly within your budget)
BMW 850CSi
BMW M3
BMW M5
Lotus Exige
Mercedes - Any AMG car
Nissan Skyline R33
Vauxhall VX220

Personally I'd go for the 850CSi, but then I'd sad that way.
You'd have an absolute blast in any of the above cars. Go on - enjoy yourself!
you will be lucky to buy anything try a honda civic type r or old accord type r
Subaru?
pick up a copy of top gear or what car. only 3 quid and has a full catalogue of cars and information on cars you should know about if there not in there forget. Tells you everything as well speed power torque pirce.etc. Then when youve found what your after check out autotrader and get it cheaper second hand but just as good
MB convertible early '90's.
All above have some very good suggestions but i have to agree with the Porsche 911 for many reasons.

1, You can use it everyday, they are reliable enough, well built, comfortable, and will stand up to being your only car if needed.

2, You are buying a prestige mark here, one if the best cars on the road for depreciation and just about every other car suggested will lose you a fortune.
You also wont be driving around looking like a chav boy racer.

3, You will enjoy and like all the other cars, you will grow to love the 911 because it has character by the sack load.

4, Everybody will want to come and chat to you, they will admire, be interested and that includes the women as well.

I have a 911, best thing i ever did.
