I own a mitsubishi carisma. The MPG is showing 30.3. When I bought the car it was 36 MPG. Whats wrong Please??

Your driving style is different to the last owner. I'm guessing you do a lot more town miles or are prone to putting your foot down a bit. Either one will MAJORLY affect the mileage.
As for the running of it - could be needing a new air filter, or air intake sensor. Get it in for a service.
If I'm careful I can get 28mpg out of my car - if not, just 17!!

30.3 sounds more reasonable than 36 so perhaps someone had driven downn the Motorway at 55 to get the mileage reading up to con you when yoy bought it.
It is a Mitsubishi so you cannot expect it to drive like a Honda can you.
Sounds like tthe jets are clogged up with carbon and maybe you need the tick over turned up.You could try a couple of shots of redex in the tank and give it a good blast down the motorway.
If you know where the fuel filter is empty it and put three good shots of good single whisky in and run the car .If this dont work drink the whisky and put the car in the auction.
