Ive got a problem with my Renault Scenic?

There is an orange light that is flashing and the engine is idling at a very low rev, exhaust sounds like it may be blowing, but the manual says it is a Toxic fume monitering warning light. Anyone know what it might be

Best way to get a sensible answer to this one is at www.renaultforums.co.uk They work kinda like this answers but it is totally run by renault drivers.
Sell it and buy a descent car. Pref one that isn't french
Sounds like it could be something to do with the emissions. Why not take it to a garage to get it checked out.
Is yours a diesel, if so, it could be the EGR valve which needs replacing, as according to Renault, these are a common fault on the diesels, I had one go on both my Scenic and Clio.
it could be your lamda sencer get to renault to be cheaked out befor your cat goes up the swanee
